Goal:
To redesign the client's wooden ring-toss shot game with the following constraints:
- material: metal
- adjustable ring height
- foldability
- portability
- applicable to more audiences
Ideation
Final Concept
We decided to move forward with my "swiss army knife" inspired concept as it was the cleanest version in terms of manufacturability. The upward folding of the base legs was key to reach max foldability and portability.
Further Ladder Exploration
The ladder component of the game had to be small or flexible enough to store itself easily within the product. Since the client was open to a token rather than the original shot cup, I was able to design a thin "ladder" which resembled tiny indents on a boardgame. I believe a bag would be the best option for the encasing and moving around of the game, but we left it open for decision later in the process.
